How to work Bargello stitch
Follow the chart, row by row.
Step by step
- Trim plastic canvas to size, or leave an inch spare on needlepoint canvas and tape the edges.
- Come up at one end of a stitch, leaving a small tail at the back.
- Skip the number of holes on the chart and go down.
- Come up at the bottom of the next stitch; cover the tail as you go.
- Work every stitch in a row the same direction, even when the line slopes down.
- End a length by sliding it through the back of matching stitches.
