Lacemaking

Lace is an openwork textile with a pattern of holes. Bobbin lace twists threads wound on bobbins round pins in a pillow.

A durable lace made from rings and chains of knots (double stitches) over a core thread.

Felt is made by matting and pressing fibres together. It does not fray, which makes it easy to cut and sew.

Rugs made from strips of recycled fabric, hooked or poked through hessian, or braided together.
