What you need for punch needle
A punch needle, the right foundation fabric, a no-slip hoop or gripper frame, and floss or yarn.
- Punch needle tool and threader.
- Foundation fabric matched to the needle: weaver's cloth for fine embroidery punch needles; monk's cloth for rug punch needles.
- A secure hoop or gripper frame that holds fabric drum-tight.
- Six-strand floss, perle cotton or very fine yarn for embroidery punch; thicker yarn for rug punch.
- Small scissors.
