Where to go next with trapunto

History and hand methods.

• See the Tristan Quilt at the V&A, made in Sicily in the late 13th century and one of the earliest examples.
• Try the traditional method of slitting and padding the underside.
• Look at Provençal whole-cloth quilts, often confused with trapunto.
