What you need to re-cover a seat

Staple gun and fabric.
- A heavy-duty staple gun; an office stapler won't work.
- A tack lifter to pull old staples.
- About 0.5 yd (0.5 m) of upholstery fabric per seat.
- Foam and polyester wadding if the pad has collapsed.
- Black bottoming cloth for the underside.
- A serrated knife to cut foam.
