Hardanger: a beginner's guide

Norwegian counted cutwork.
- Hardanger is counted-thread and cutwork embroidery from Norway.
- Traditionally it is white thread on white even-weave linen.
- There are three stages: Kloster blocks, cutting threads, then decorating the spaces.
- It needs a slightly heavier fabric than cross stitch.
- The piece won't fall apart if the blocks are in the right place.
